During her four years at the University of Iowa, Carrie Hodgson has shown everyone how to take full advantage of a university education.
She brought her love of sports with her when she arrived at the University of Iowa from her hometown of Urbandale, Iowa, in fall 2021. She got an EMT certification, volunteered at the University hospital, and tackled those pre-med courses. She worked as an academic tutor in General Chemistry.
Along the way, she took general education courses in sociology and social psychology that changed her plans dramatically. She loved that the content was so interesting and applicable to her life. Her love of learning continues. She discovered an aptitude for sociological research and became a research assistant in the Center for the Study of Group Processes.
